Kousik Dutta. I design it, then I build it.

I’m Kousik Dutta, a senior product designer and design engineer at Precisely in Bengaluru. Five years in UX, 3+ full-time on enterprise B2B SaaS at Precisely and ThoughtSpot. I design the system and direct AI agents to build it. I decide what it does, how it fails and what ships, and I review and test every change before it goes live.

My own: two UPES gold medals (2023), the CII Young Designer Awards in Service Design and a D’source SDGs Design Challenge merit award (2022). With my teams: iF Design 2024, Cloud Awards 2023–24 and Global AI Awards 2026.

Owning a problem from the first sketch to the code that ships.

    • Promoted twice in 2026: Product Designer 2 in March, Senior Product Designer & UX Engineer in May.
    • I mentor three designers. With Jerimy Brown I led our move to AI-assisted design: sessions for 20+ designers, and an MCP server that gives our AI tools the design system.
    • I work across the Developer Portal, spatial analytics, location intelligence APIs, and the Data Integrity Suite.

“Kousik takes ownership, moves ideas forward, and stays focused on delivering something useful that we can learn from.”

Jerimy BrownDirector of UX and direct manager · Precisely

Fix the pattern once, and every product gets better.

    • I audited the portal’s locked, example-only demos and designed one tryout pattern every API could use.
    • I prototyped the riskiest interaction against live APIs before engineering touched it.
    • Validating an API went from eight setup steps to three, without leaving the portal.

Knowing what a complex product has to keep when the screen shrinks.

    • Research cut the brief down to six things people do on a phone: check, ask, filter, act, get alerted, and share.
    • Under design lead Tarun Bhandari I owned the native flows, voice states, watchlists, filters, alerts, and the handoff spec the build ran on.
    • The app won Best in Mobile Cloud Solution at the 2023–24 Cloud Awards.

    • I studied for a Bachelor of Design in User Experience and Interaction Design at UPES from 2019 to 2023 and finished with a 9.5 CGPA, while doing four internships and freelancing on the side. I made the Dean’s List in my second year.

Going deep on research, then wide on concepts, before choosing one.

    • For my graduation project I reviewed 141 sources, interviewed 18 people, opened 24 directions, shortlisted 12, and tested a working prototype.
    • The prototype scored 82.1 on the System Usability Scale from 8 people, and the team concept won an iF Design Award in 2024.

Sonali KhandelwalProduct Designer · OLX Autos

A process that holds customer trust and business reality together.

    • The finance experience differed across five countries, and knowledge sat in silos. I researched it down to 29 values any finance UX should respect.
    • I built a two-day workshop that got product, design, and tech to pick the five that mattered per flow, cutting alignment from up to a month down to two days.

Execution that stays clear from the design file to the build.

    • In the Airtel Thanks app, 30% of users were being sent to the call center. I designed live chat and feedback inside the app.
    • Call-center transfers from the app fell below 5%, and chat satisfaction rose 20 points.

    Alok KumarDirector (Design) · Vedantu

Treating every screen as part of a bigger product system.

    • Students wanted live time with the best teachers, and that doesn’t scale. I designed an interactive class replay that brings the live classroom back.
    • I learned to turn dense product constraints into clear, reusable patterns.
